About Us
East Bay Tours and Rentals is a small family owned and green-friendly business. We incorporated in 2005 with dolphin, fishing, sight seeing and ecological tours. For three years we advertised by word of mouth. Now that the market and climate are favorable to this type of business we are going public July 4th, 2008. Our Mission Statement is "Where Fun is foremost and love and respect of the environment is taught and practiced." I have been a public school educator for 20 years. And my life long dream has been to mix fun and education to make a better world. I think Disney is a artificial world; we need to get in touch with the real world and love it, protect it, restore it and enjoy it.
We are presently working with the University of Florida IFAS, Martin B. Main PhD. and the Florida Sea Grant (FSG.) An undertaking on strategic planning that will guide and research educational efforts to address coastal and marine issues in Florida during 2009-2012. This will enhance the practical use and conservation of coastal and marine resources to create a sustainable economy and environment. At this time we are working on these topics:
1. Marine bio-technology for the development of marine-derived products that enhance human life
and /or the environment.
2. Fisheries to devise and teach production and management techniques for sustainable fisheries.
3. Aqua Culture to provide readily available cultured marine products.
4. Seafood Safety to improve the quality and safety of Florida's seafood products.
5. Coastal Communities to foster sustainable community growth and develop and improve waterway management and policy.
6. Ecosystems Health to protect, restore and enhance living coastal resources.

7. Marine Education to promote coastal/marine knowledge and literacy.
Let me mention that each day dolphins in the wild (natural environment) come and go in Cook Bayou. So at anytime day or night you might have a 300 pound fish swim by you. July 4th, 2007 approximately 30 dolphins came in and stayed all day long.
I hope that in the last years of my life I can give back to the next generation much more than I take. On that note I want to challenge future East Bay community residents and Panama City Newcomers to pledge 1% of their total income to support their schools. In my case I will be putting mine in a account for E.B.I. East Bay Institute. Together one at a time we can change the world we live in. May God Bless.
